• For Pooris
  • Plain Flour or Maida - 100g
  • Wheat Flour - 150g
  • Raosted Rava - 2 TB spoons
  • Butter - 2 TB spoons
  • Baking powder - A pinch
  • Sodium bicarbonate - a pinch
  • Oil for frying - 250ml
  • ----------------
  • For Potato Masala
  • Medium sizes potatoes - 3-4
  • Medium sized onion - 1
  • Tomatoes - 2-3
  • Green chillies - 3-4
  • Ginger/Garlic Paste - 1/2 TBSP
  • Garam Masala - 11/2 TB spoons
  • Chilli powder - 1 TB spoons
  • Tumeric - 1/2 TB spoons
  • salt to taste
  • Coriander leaves - A bunch
  • Oil - 2- 3 TB spoons
  • Coriander seeds - 2 TBSP
  • Poppy seeds - 1/4 TBSP
  • Cloves - 2
  • Cinnamon sticks - 2 small
  • Grated coconut - 3 TBSP

Preparation

1) In a bowl add both flours, rava (Suji powder – course Samolina), butter,  baking powder and sodium bicarbonate and knead into a smooth dough with adding little water and leave it for 2 hours

2) In the meanwhile boil potatoes and De-skin and dice each potato into quarters

3) Cut onions and  tomatoes finely

4) Slit the chillies lengthwise

5) Cut coriander leaves finely

6)  Grind  grated coconut, Coriander seeds,  Poppy seeds, , 2 Cloves,  and 2 Cinnamon sticks into very fine paste adding water.

Cooking Process

Masala potato Curry

1) In a sauce pan heat 2-3 TB spoons of oil  add onions and fry for 3-4 minutes

2) Add boiled diced potatoes with chilli powder, turmeric and salt and cook for 10 minutes adding 2 cups of water.

4) Then add tomatoes and grinder masala paste, cook for further 10 minutes

5) Finally garnish with coriander leaves

For The Pooris

1) Roll the dough into 10 equal balls and with the help of rolling pin make each ball into flat and round poori like discs

2) In a deep frying pan heat 250ml of oil (the oil should be piping hot)

3) Fry the dough discs (pooris) in oil on both sides until golden brown

4) Serve with masala potato curry ( Kids Love It )
